Game Unit: Time Travel Ninja
We made this game in Game Maker. Before we used Game Maker, we needed to draw the backgrounds and props in photoshop. The ninja goes back in time to fix the future. The goal is to get back to the time machine in every level. If I had more time for this project, I would fix some of the glitches and add more enemies. Making this game was hard and took time. Phenakistoscope
A phenakistoscope is an animation device. When you spin the phenakistoscope, it creates an illusion of motion. A loop is when the figure seems to be repeating the same motion over and over again. The phenakistoscope is the most interesting old animation toy to me. I think after the first couple frames making this gets easier. Color Theory
This is my color theory project. I used split complimentary as the theory. I think I captured the original photo's expressions well. I used Taco Bell as my background, because I used their colors for my photo. I used tones around the eyes, in the ears and other places. The strongest element of art is color, because of the complimenting colors. These two photos are my favorite from the photo unit. In the first picture, I used double exposure. I took two pictures and put them into photoshop. I turned down the opacity on the eye and add a filter. In the second picture, I put it into photoshop. I turned it to black and white, and used the polygonal lasso tool to make the jacket stay red. This project was really fun to do, but also challenging.
Critter Montage! The Catmiss
This is my critter montage. I blended a cat and a mouse. The two most important tools for this project is the polygonal lasso tool and the clone stamp tool. The strongest Elements and Principles in this project would be unity and form. Unity because of the way I had to make the head of the cat fit with the mouse body. Form because of the shadows around the catmiss to make it more realistic. Tessellation
In my tessellation, I think I used repetition the best, because of the repeating shape and pattern. This tessellation was a lot easier than doing it traditionally. On the computer I was able to copy and paste everything. When I did the traditional way, I had to trace the shapes over and over again. Font Bot
For my font bot, I used Times New Roman. My bot uses a serif font. I think my font matches my font bot pretty well. This project was really interesting to do. I liked finding the different letters to use for the body. It was also cool to do it in photoshop, because I was able to link certain letters and pieces together. My Font Bot was created in a government lab, in hope of developing a new weapon. He escaped and is now tormenting the majors cities of the U.S.A. Square 1 Art Project
I made this project in Photoshop. I used a drawing tablet which was difficult, but I liked doing it. It was fun to get that experience with the tablet. I started by sketching the swirl in the background. Then, I sectioned off the swirl so that I could alternate between black and white. After that, I filled the background with green. Then, I drew the fancy S in the center and erased everything inside it. I copied the S, and put one in each corner. I inverted the colors inside the S's. I think that my strongest principle of art would be rhythm, and my strongest element would be color. In this project, I used contrast between the black and white and green. I really like this picture becuase of the bright color and repeating lines. I also like how the colors blend. The perspective and how the picture spirals out is really cool.
